Primary MX
Our system can be set to function as a primary SMTP server. All emails destined for your domain will be delivered to us, and then forwarded on to your servers thus hiding your mail server from the public, increasing security for vulnerable SMTP servers. the SMTP Port Redirect (Cloaking) feature also allows you to run your own mail server on any non-standard port should your ISP be blocking port 25. Our mail server is capable of forwarding mail to servers that do not run on the standard SMTP port.
Antivirus and spam filtering
No special hardware of software is required. All that is required is to set your mail MX records to point to our server. It takes less than 5 minutes to do, and you can benefit from the antivirus and spam filtering that we offer. Our filters will scan every email that passes in and if it recognies it as virus infected or spam, it will be quarantined for 60 days and will be included in a daily report sent to the recipient's mailbox.
Backup MX
At TakeFocus, we provide backup mail servers to receive your emails when your primary mail server unreachable due to network outages or server downtime. By adding our backup mail servers as MX records to your domain, you can be ensured that mails destined for your organisation will never be lost. In addition, our mail servers can be used as a front to protect your organisation's mail server, therefore eliminating the risk of your mail server of being directly exposed to hackers. Our system works by the concept of "store and forward". Whenever someone tries sending mail to your primary mail server while it is down, emails are automatically routed to any one of our backup mail servers. Our mail server will store your emails and keep retrying your primary server until until is up again, when all email will be finally delivered to the destination.

- Some things to consider:
- We try to avoid imposing restrictions to the included bandwidth and storage of your accounts with us (the provider), but if an unreasonable volume of traffic is coming through our service, pricing of your services may deviate from the standard prices listed above. We feel this is is the most flexible approach for all of our customers, and have 100% positive feedback. Due to a mutual respect between TakeFocus and our valued customers we have never had reason to deviate from the standard pricing for these reasons. Our servers attempt to forward mail on for a week before returning to sender.
- We reserve the right to terminate our service for any of our customers, providing a 30-day notice of termination by email to the customer. In the event of abuse*** of our service we reserve the right to terminate the service immediately. Any refunds of monies will be given at the sole discression of ourselves (the provider).
- *Server uptime is based on an moving average over a period of time, we aim for 100% uptime, but inevitably servers do sometimes require rebooting or hardware upgrades. Due to the distributed nature of the DNS and email system, we will never reboot all our servers at the same time, hence at least one of our server will always be contactable**. We will endevour to keep our servers running and accepting connections, excluding network routing problems by any of our higher level or peer network providers.
- **We place no guarentee that our servers will always be contactable from any location in the world. It is impossible that any ISP or network provider can ensure that all locations will be accessible, due to harware failure, configuration faults or natural disasters.
- ***We consider abuse of our network and services to be using our services to facilitate unsolicited email (spam), violation of trademarks or copyrights, disrupts or in any way causes denial of service to ourselves or our customers, cause or promote abusive or threatening behaviour. Additionally any activity that is considered illegal or a criminal offense, including the transfer of copyrighted mp3's, videos or any other form of copyrighted material.
